In der Gemeinde Tingsryd, nahe der schwedischen Ortschaft Ryd, liegt dieser Autofriedhof in einem Moor namens Kyrkö Mosse. Der Besitzer Åke Danielsson (1914–2000) gewann in dem Moor Torf und widmete sich dem Ausschlachten von Autos. Nachdem der Eigentümer in ein Altersheim zog und dort verstarb, wurde der Autofriedhof als Kulturdenkmal anerkannt und bis 2050 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt. Mittlerweile sind die Autowracks zu einer anerkannten Touristenattraktion geworden und können jederzeit frei besichtigt werden.
 

Facts

In the municipality of Tingsryd, near the Swedish town of Ryd, in a bog called Kyrkö Mosse lays a junkyard. The owner Åke Danielsson (1914–2000) won it in the village of Moor Torf and dedicated himself to salvage cars. After the owner moved to a retirement home and died, the junkyard was recognized as a cultural monument and placed under preservation order until 2050. In the meantime, the car wrecks have become a recognized tourist attraction and can be viewed freely at any time.
