Von hölzernen Kirchen, über riesige unterirdische Anlagen, bis hin zum vergessenen Herrenhaus. In Lettland gibt es viele Orte, die es sich zu erkunden lohnt. Das 64.589 km² große Land ist sehr stark russisch geprägt. Es sprechen 37% der Bevölkerung als Muttersprache Russisch. Die lutherische Kirche Lettlands ist mit der römisch-katholischen Kirche in Deutschland vergleichbar. Zahlreiche Gotteshäuser stehen heute in Lettland leer. Zum Großteil aus Holz gebaut, halten sie den starken Wintern Lettlands unbeheizt allerdings nur wenige Jahre stand.

The 64,589km² country is populated by a majority of Russians. 37% of the population speaks Russian as their mother tongue. The Lutheran Church in Latvia is comparable to the Roman Catholic Church in Germany. Many places of worship in Latvia are empty today. Made mostly of wood, they can only withstand Latvia’s strong winters unheated for a few years.
